Jonathan Wessel teaches Meisner technique, camera technique. stage technique, commercial technique, monologues, audition preparation and technique, cold reading and singing. He’s been teaching acting since 2010. He has extensive experience with the Meisner technique as well as performing in over 20 stage productions and numerous films and tv shows in the past 14 years. Jonathan is a very patient teacher who puts the student first and strives to bring them to a place of mastery in their craft. He focuses raw performances that are genuine, not merely put on for performance, but performances that actually live in the actor and bring about a truly moving performance.
Some of his stage credits include It’s A Wonderful Life (Sam Wainwright), A Little Princess (Captain Crewe), The Mousetrap (Christopher Wren), Plaza Suite (Borden Eisler), A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical (John Barsad), and A Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge). In the world of film, Jonathan’s credits include the feature films, The Over-Mountain Men: The Price of Freedom (supporting) and Counter Column (supporting) and is slated to appear in two more features next year. Short films include Night Guard (lead), There (supporting), Happy Together (lead), and Wink At Me (supporting), along with several student films. Jonathan has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming independent series, Knight’s End. Jonathan studied the Meisner Method at Green Shirt Studio in Chicago and on-camera/commercial technique at Acting Studio Chicago, in addition to private coaching with several Hollywood acting coaches. Jonathan has also gained a lot of experience as a director. He has directed 15 plays since 2010.
